Al went into the hospital on April 9th with what he thought were gallstones, but it was actually a clogged duct due to adenocarcinoma. He spent 5 days in the hospital at Novant and went home after a small surgery to place a stint in the duct and biopsy the mass.
The ensuing weeks have been spent getting second opinions at Novant, Duke and Atrium. Al felt best with the surgical team at Duke and on Wednesday, April 30th will undergo a full whipple surgery to hopefully remove all known cancer.
Check back here for more updates on Al and how he is feeling.
Margaret and I are praying for you, Al. Stay strong and heal swiftly.
I just spoke with Al- he sounds great. He must be the superstar on his floor! He is happy he still has his epidural! Sending lots of love, healing thoughts and prayers.
Life is sweet….
May it last, may it last!…..
Always
Thank you, Erin for setting this up….
Heading to Duke Hospital tomorrow with surgery scheduled for Wednesday….
Thank you all for your support and encouragement!
